This truck is virtua;;y rust free on body. The frame however is rusted through near the gas tank. I have seen other people with this issue. Mechanic had to take it off lift, because it was so weak. Could just break while driving.

Have owned this truck bought new, 2005. Have used sparingly only 15k + miles. Over the years i have experianced a number of occasions when it tried to accellerate when i went to brake. First thought it a quirk or floor mats. Recently nearly trashed a parked car while backing ito a parking space. Continued to accellerate dispite standing on brake. There is no longer any doubt that this is a problem with sua, sudden…

The rear differential had to be replaced( at a ford dealership ). The reason for replacement was the shaft that goes from the wheel into the differential had adjustment issues when making normal turns( this occurred when driving slowly also more noticeable with quick turns and when exiting on the highway around the curve ,making the rear end jump on turns. When driving in a straight line there was no issue problems.…

Fuse 14 controlling abs module, dtr sensor, reverse lights, pcv heater, air conditioner compressor, cruise control deactivator switch and daytime headlights was repeatedly blowing. Truck was serviced by dealer on 3-23-16, replacing the a/c compressor. Replacing the a/c compressor did not resolve any issues. The truck was returned to the dealer on 4-6-16 for the same issue with the same fuse. The dealership replaced…

Driving on interstate doing 70 mph (in fast lane) when truck stopped/stalled and i guess from research went into "limp mode". I was unable to press the gas pedal, it just shook three times each of which slowed it down incredibly, the check engine light was on and a wrench showed up, but the radio still worked. While trying to pull over almost wrecked (memorial day weekend and i was in fast lane). Finally able to…

My 2005 f150 xlt frame is rusted through on the driver,s side of the truck. I purchased it in december of 2005 so it has not seen ten years of service yet. It will not pass vermont state inspection which means i will no longer be able to drive it on public roads due to safety reasons. The body is in very good condition and the truck has less than 41,000 miles on it. I have until the end of august, 2005 to get the…

Bought a 2005 f150 triton v8 5.4l new in 2005. I have now experienced a cam phase problem which will cost appx 2500 to repair. Talking to my mechanic he said that it was no promise to fix the issue , because these motors are known for this issue. Was told it would be easier to put another motor in so i wouldn't have to worry about ,if it would fix the problem. My brother has a 2008 ford with the same motor and had…

About a year ago i was driving my f-150 pickup truck down street maybe 45 m.p.h when out of nowhere the driver side window made a loud noise and fell down into the door . Ended up that the window regulator had broken . Then yesterday i was driving about 50 m.p.h and my back window was open about 2 inches i pushed the button to make it go up , it made a loud grinding noise and fell into the door also.

My 2005 ford f150 needed the spark plugs to be removed. I went to remove them and they were all defective. I had to have the truck towed and repaired. They charged me $941.00 which crazy. This is 3 times the amount it would cost to repair on my own if the spark plugs on my own which is what i was trying to do. Ford dealership would do nothing for me even after i told them and showed proof of many many many people…

I have a 2005 ford f150 4 door. While driving, i heard a loud pop and my drivers door window fell to the bottom of the door. The loud noise was a shock and a possible safety hazard. Approximately a week later, the right rear window did the same thing!! I have read several things on line about this stating that the window regulators going out on these vehicles is a common problem. I have not had either fixed due to…

Heard loud pop when rolling window up and then window fell into the door. This was the passenger side window. I had the exact same thing happen in september 2009 with the drivers side window. The cause of that was broken regulator in the window. The windows just fall down into the doors. Could be very dangerous if there is a defect with the regulators and someone was traveling at any rate of speed. Luckily my…

While driving vehicle at any speed from 10 mph to 70 mph the truck will go into safe mode (limp-home mode) going down to 5 mph and losing all power steering. When diagnosed it is the throttle body control to me this is a safety issue what happens if i am driving 70 mph on the highway and it goes into safety mode and i lose all power steering. While driving down the road, i heard a loud pop and the driver side window went crashing down inside the door. Had it replaced under warranty. A few days after the maintenance warranty ended (1yr 2 days)....the same problem happened to the same window and it happened while i was driving down the road again and almost caused me to wreck. This is a very unsafe issue that i am finding out about with a lot of 2005 ford…

My 2005 ford f-150 front passenger window fell inside the door. This is the second time i have had this same problem, first time it was my front driver side window, the dealer repaired it, it was the regulator. This time i disassembled the door panel so i could 'attempt' to fix the problem myself. Upon looking inside the door at the regulator/motor, all i saw was the cable wrapped around the regulator.
