I went to have my brakes replaced on my f-150 with 54,000 miles on the odometer and the mechanic told me the frame was completely rusted out and that he was able to put a screwdriver through it. This is an update to my post of 8/14/19, concerning frame rust on my 2007 f150. The truck has now been inspected by a competent body shop with the box taken off. There is more rust on the frame than on the titanic, no hope of fixing it. So far ford doesn't want to know anything. Someone is going to be killed if this isn't addressed. While driving at 35mph or less the driver side front hub assembly may emit an intermitent grinding noise as if the hub is trying to lock into four wheel drive.
