I have an extended cab 2015 f-150 pick up truck. The rear suicide doors do not latch closed which leaves the front seat belt attachment unattached to the car whatsoever. I took the truck to ed shults ford in jamestown, ny and they determined the rear door latch cable is stretching out which keeps the door from latching. This is happening on a 3 year old truck. The dealer also informed me that they see this several…

In cold weather, the rear driver side door latches are inoperable. The door latch fails to engage, allowing the door to open while the vehicle is in motion. During right hand turns, bumps in the road, or when light pressure is applied to the driver side doors, the vehicle returns a "door ajar" warning as the door open itself. This is especially dangerous in the "supercab" configuration, as the rear door also…

During a accident where i rear ended another vehicle that was either stopped or at a very slow roll on a off-ramp (traffic was backed up from a wreck further up), neither my airbags or my seat belt restrained me. The result being me hitting the steering wheel with my chest and abdomen. I had bruising on my lower abdomen and extensive injuries to my back, neck and hips. Passenger side seatbelt retractor does not work properly if occupant is leaning forward, as in a slow braking situation followed by harder braking. I've saved my face dozens of times from hitting the dashboard, even after the original seatbelt retractor was replaced. The 2nd one provides protection only in strictly hard braking situations, not slow-then-hard braking.

The vehicle is a 2015 ford f-150 extended cab. My vehicle has not been involved in an incident, but there is a defect in the design of the seatbelt/door latches. Design of the rear doors and the latches traps the rear seat passenger in the event of the incapacitation of the front seat passenger.
